This collection is inspired by the “Second Renaissance” better known as the Black Arts Movement, founded by the late & Great Amiri Baraka. It proposes a radical reordering of the Western aesthetic. New history, new myths, new legends. Nina Simone, Gil Scott Heron & John Coltrane embodied this very sentiment and used their art to champion resilience. ⠀ In a continued effort to make the art created here at Bloomfield.Works® more actionable, a percentage of the net proceeds on the tees will be donated to the BAFF (Black Art Futures Fund) to ensure the cultivation of tomorrow’s Black artists, poets and storytellers.
